Dimensions: 4 7/8” Long 42 Ring
Shape: Corona

Construction is quite nice. Slight box press and nice even fill, no soft spots. Wrapper is slightly veined but overall very clean. Clean cap with good form.

The flavor of the wrapper is quite good, reminiscent of a Cuban Monte#3 with a bit of Padron 3000 mixed in. Light cocoa and sweet nutmeg notes on the palette. Pre-light draw is very nice.

The cigar lights easily and the first few puffs are smooth and creamy with a little bite of wood. The ash is med gray with a thin black banding.

More chocolate and nutmeg in the smoke while in the mouth, no harshness whatsoever. The draw is amazing.

The cigar smoked nicely through to the last 1.5 inches. Like many cigars it got a little bitter at the end but was quite good overall. I’d like to smoke it again with some Dalmore 12 or Balvenie 15 and review it a second time. For now though, it’s a nice cigar. Good job “mystery cigar” source!!

Mystery Cigar #0278

posted 2007 Sep by Mr. Stogie

So my buddy stops by the office yesterday and says, “Check this out, it’s like a Cuban Montecristo.”. So who am I to refuse!!?? The cigar is 5” x 44. I clip the cap and pop it in the yapper…smooth and very mild, but not weak. The wrapper looks to be a Connecticut Shade with virtually no veins. Overall the construction is nice. Pre-light draw is ok, not tight, not loose. I fire the foot and a medium gray ash appears. A few blows through and in it comes… A slight bitter note hits first, a sweet-dirt flavor follows. I let it rest. The next series of puffs offer some interesting notes, a slight almond note and a dash of pencil lead. At this point, the chances of the “Cuban Monte” coming out are pretty slim…

After 30 mins, it’s not getting much better. Kind of lifeless and boring with a bitter finish and aftertaste..

NEXT!!!!???

There I was, There I was.....

At the Shaghai airport mulling around the duty free area about to board my flight when I spotted them… I had been hoping to get my hands on some Bolivar Petit Coronas at some point because I love the flavor of all the other Boli’s I’ve ever tried but often don’t have the 1+ hours to smoke one. As soon as I got home (after two plane flights and 25hrs of travel), I showered, poured a TALL glass of Johnny Walker Black Label, cut the cap of my first Boli PC and lit it…Ahhhhh, what a beautiful smoke. A perfect draw producing a nice billow of creamy blue gray smoke. A mild cedar note was followed by that coveted Bolivar nutiness and a wonderful, long finish. My next thought was of course, how can I possibly make these last????
