El Rey Del Mundo Double Robusto

Today I smoked a fun cigar, the El Rey Del Mundo Robusto Larga. A 6" x 54 ring gauge beauty, the cigar is delivered in a thin white paper wrapper that protects the cigar nicely. The band is wrapped around the wrapper which makes for a very nice presentation. Once relieved of it's sheath, the cigar revealed has a clean tight wrapper with mild veining and practically no tooth. The cap construction is very nice and tight and cut cleanly and easily.

The wrapper is mildly sweet and the pre-light draw was easy and the foot lit quickly and evenly with the "Flame Thrower" handily in hand! (ok, the pun!!). First puff... smooth, cool smoke with loads of cedary, soily, yummy goodness! The smoke is medium in density and gray/ light blue in color.

Cruzado Marios by Dion Giolito

El Cruzado Marios - Magnificos!

7x48 and full of deliciousness!!

This cigar was given to me by a fellow KOTL (Keeper Of The Leaf) as a gift and I must say, I am impressed!

The construction is very good and the wrapper is not overly veiny or toothy. The cap is a very nice three layer pigtail, a feature which seems to be gaining popularity lately. If a pigtail is done right and the cigar is made well, you don;t even need to cut the cap to smoke it. Just pinch the tail and pull gently and you can light up!

From the first sip of this cigar, pre-light, the toast (and I mean the best bread you've ever had - toasted!) and dried brush notes are wonderful. Very smooth with a medium body mouth feel and a medium to full flavor, the cigar lit easily and held it's fire well.

to be continued...
